Together, we will strengthen collective advocacy, advance the NCD agenda, and work towards a healthier future for the region and beyond.

Why This Matters

  • The Eastern Mediterranean NCD Alliance (EM-NCDA) is a coalition of civil society organizations uniting over fifty members from more than twenty countries across the region.
It focuses on NCD prevention and control as a vital part of national health and development agendas.
  • Through the alliance, members engage in advocacy, capacity building, and knowledge sharing to influence health policies and practices for better public health outcomes.
  • For JUST, this membership enhances our regional presence and aligns with our mission in education, research, community engagement, and health promotion across Somalia.

What We Look Forward To

  • Collaborating with the EM-NCDA network to share evidence, best practices, and innovations in NCD prevention and control.
  • Strengthening our research, teaching, and community outreach programmes related to NCDs such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancers, and chronic respiratory illnesses.
  • Building strong partnerships with civil society organizations, government bodies, and health sectors to shape health policy and practice in Somalia and the broader region.
  • Engaging our students, faculty, and staff in advocacy and practical health initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, early detection, and prevention of NCDs.

We invite our university community—students, faculty, staff—and our wider partners in the health and education sectors to join us in this exciting journey.
Stay tuned for upcoming seminars, workshops, research collaborations, and community health programs focused on Non-Communicable Disease prevention and awareness.
